I have been working with encaustic painting, or wax substance at Kendall College of Art & Design. I dipped a photo of Los Angeles in clear wax, used tweezers to pull it out of the container and a heat gun to melt the photo onto the MDF board.
I dripped wax on top of the MDF board to create the cool effects of red, purple and yellow dripping down the top. I will finish this piece by painting palm trees on top of the wax. I need to uncover the back ground image a bit more too!
