The Garage has been the most fulfilling summer of my entire life. Yes, I am positive this statement is a proven fact. I took a chance, on a college budget, and moved across the states for an opportunity in advancement. I am in love with our ad agency & the display advertising world. The most beneficial part is my crew and all their knowledge. I ask questions & jump on conference calls, sit in rep meetings & travel to seminars. Oh.. I wish I didn’t have to finish school but a part of me is happy to go back to Michigan. I accomplished exactly what I wanted to do this summer. Which is what? Learning new media in a real-time environment with creatives, producers, directors and media buyers. My network is HUGE and I will have a story about California to tell each & every day that I am home in Michigan.. “In California I went…I did… I explored..” Yup.. that’s amazing! I’m blessed for the opportunity & I will be making calls back to the agency when I graduate.
Can you tell from first glance of the photo below that this is not a typical agency? The Garage is hands-on; colorful and something new/fresh/business is always going on. Our Chalk Wall for example/// is a wall to draw on.. However you feel… whatever you like.. I draw something everyday (shh)
The Chalk Wall!! Full of color, inspiration and mostly random doodles by me lol.. Hey~ My team gives me a piece of chalk and says go! You already know I would grind on art all day if I could.. and if it paid my bills ;] Chalk ARt on the other hand; I’ve seen some amazing creations at the Pasadena Chalk Art Festival in SoCal.. and I am no expert.. BUT I had fun bonding with other peeps who were ‘tagging’ their names or pieces. I could see a wall in my house looking like this one day.
