Twitter Follow-Up Direct Messages

There is no better way than making someone’s day by thanking the company or person for following on Twitter. When a follower is interested in your service, brand, image or reputation – that user may remain loyal as your follower. You may experience ‘retweets’ – which take the message that was posted and re-post on their feed. Audience engagement is key! I have received terrific ‘follow-up’ direct messages, which are 1-on-1 messages with two persons in a feed.

Here are some great examples of follow-up direct messages that I have collected from my personal feed.

These companies use an easy approach to say ‘thanks’ as well as engaging with their audience. If the person or company is not ‘following’ back, you may not be able to submit a direct message.

The users are following with a ‘thanks’ and link to other social media outlets. This is great use to promote the company’s services in the digital space.

+ Gaining followers
+ Initiating engagement
+ Inviting to other cross media promotion

Always follow-up with a pleasant message thanking your new followers.
