Detroit Institute of Arts presents:
“heART of Our City”

Annual black-tie gala to celebrate museum’s role in community, raise funds for educational programs

This is the DIA’s largest annual fundraiser, which brings DIA supporters together for a gala event that kicks off the holiday season’s spirit of giving.

Aaron Vince
Communications Specialist at Detroit Institute of Arts:

“The meaning behind “heART of Our City” is explained that every vibrant city has art at its core. The Detroit Institute of Arts not only offers a world-class collection, but also presents it in a way that makes it easy for visitors to personally connect with it.

The annual gala has a history of attracting both long-time supporters and first-time donors. The late-night party offers a less expensive option to enjoy the elegance and fun of the gala, while supporting the museum.”

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA), one of the premier art museums in the United States, is home to more than 60,000 works that comprise a multicultural survey of human creativity from ancient times through the 21st century. From the first Van Gogh painting to enter a U.S. museum (Self-Portrait, 1887), to Diego Rivera’s world-renowned Detroit Industry murals (1932–33), the DIA’s collection is known for its quality, range and depth. The DIA’s mission is to create opportunities for all visitors to find personal meaning in art.
