Encaustic Painting Midterm Final – Abstraction of Detroit
My abstraction painting course at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI is my most enjoyable experience as an artist. I collaborate with my creative classmates using inspiration & style with encaustic painting. Encaustic is another term for wax. This is an interesting way to create different levels and emotions in a piece.
This is an abstraction of the cityscape of Detroit, MI. Each of my paintings reflect my emotions, struggles and a piece of me. I spend a lot of time visually identifying what I enjoy most about the composition of my pieces. From color concept to brush strokes; every abstraction has meaning.
