During the development of this abstract collection for Kimpton EPIC Hotel, my art-style can be seen as a self-empowering process where my art entrenches a different emotional form for every observer depending on mood or current headspace. The emotion poured into each canvas is determined by an intangible or emotional-personality trigger that I was feeling which instills how abstract art is seen as the highest form of mind intelligence.
At first glance, each painting may represent an accurate image of something that is recognizable but as you begin to stare longer at its composition, new shapes take form showing levels of journeys that lead to deeper emotional thoughts and physical forms of reality. Each observer takes a journey into levels of their own imagination and thought-process through each canvas.
Why do I like the style of abstract?
To simply put, the inspiration of my paintings are pulled from my perception of personal life moments while creating a world for myself. I deal with heavily influenced situations that require quick thinking and decision making to get out of that situation. As an independent woman; I have been handling my own by making proper personal and business decisions to benefit what defines happiness for me; and whom to share energy with. I understand my value & worth through my level of creativity, materials, love, tears and fears that are put into every artwork. I’ve taken more risks than rewards because I am adaptable in every environment. I reflect my intentions with high-energy vibrance; a healing motive to pour myself into other people. BOOM! I select my color palette depending on my mood or location; but also considering what I want each person to feel emotionally as they observe the artwork exploring a new dimension from their mind:
1. What observations are take-aways
2. Which emotions reacted?
3. What’s the lesson of the story?
Locations are the biggest impact for how I get started. I recognize colors or lines that wi duplicated in my artwork; creating a memory in time. I have no planned idea or strategy before I begin painting… just my thoughts on how to overcome challenges that are directly in front of me; taking responsibility for the well-being of my life. You can’t out perform my worth ethic. Time moves fast so you must be adaptable to change. Making art is my tool to stay relevant for capturing moments in time while creating new ones for each observer.
My inspiration behind painting reflects thousands of imaginary filing folders, each with lessons, that are being organized carefully in my headspace, then reproduced through my abstract art.
My emotional intelligence becomes more aware when I’m triggered from personal interactions, work or play deadlines or the random moments of being a go-getter, socialite in Miami. There are no rules or definitions when it comes to creating abstract art. The mastery comes down to layers and techniques; using different tools for patterns or lines.
I enjoy exploring the idea of creating a world based on the composition within that square foot space. I over analyze and repeat situations in my headspace until the entire journey has been painted in front of me; a natural healing form.
Abstract is an intellectual healing form of art that can be figurative senses that connect emotionally in personal experiences like trauma, pain, happiness, love, remorse, guilt, pleasure, sad, flirty, moody, lazy and the list of reference goes on as a work of art metaphorically.
