Hi everyone, this is Meli 💙
I want to share my heartfelt story with you, not just to shed light on my experiences but to foster understanding and compassion for everyone living with disabilities “differently abled”. ♿️
I was born with a condition called sacral agenesis, which limits my mobility from the waist down and means I rely on medical devices and urology supplies every single day. This journey has its challenges, but it has also taught me resilience and the importance of empathy.
Unfortunately, many people with disabilities face bullying and discrimination, whether it’s from peers, neighbors, or even in housing situations. Bullying is never okay. It hurts not only the individual but also creates a culture of exclusion and misunderstanding. We need to be more compassionate and supportive of one another. Everyone has their battles, and a little kindness can go a long way.
Right now, I’m facing a significant challenge with my apartment complex due to discrimination. I believe in standing up for what’s right, and I’m asking for your help. If you could take a moment to leave a one-star review for my apartment complex, mentioning the need for the property manager’s removal due to disability discrimination, it would mean so much to me and others who face similar situations.

I’ve also started a petition on change.org, advocating for a mandate in Florida to improve accessibility in buildings. This includes implementing blue button push access, ensuring that individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and delivery services can enter homes with ease. Your signature on this petition can help bring about real change!

On top of that, the legal fees from this battle have been piling up, and I’ve created a GoFundMe to help cover those costs. I’m not receiving support from the state, so any contribution would be a tremendous help as I continue this fight for equality and accessibility.
