Awards Ceremony Recognizes Best Advertising Work in Metro Detroit

DETROIT, Dec. 2, 2015 – Automotive won big Wednesday night at the Adcraft Club of Detroit’s Ninth Annual D Show, recognizing the best work in the region’s advertising industry. Five out of the show’s nine “Best of” winners included advertising work for automotive companies or suppliers including Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford Motor Company and NGK Spark Plugs created by agencies Doner, Commonwealth//McCann, Team Detroit and The Richards Group.

Birmingham-based Brogan & Partners, however, took top honors winning “Best of Show” for its work with the Michigan Women’s Foundation creating the Enough SAID (End Sexual Assault In Detroit) brochure. The brochure was part of a larger campaign to draw awareness to the 11,000 untested rape kits found in Detroit in 2009. The pamphlet incorporated the USB code that labels each rape kit as a design element to emphasize that each code represents the suffering of a real victim without justice.

“Our winners reflect the strength and versatility of the Detroit advertising community,” said Brian Yessian, chairman of Adcraft’s D Council, which organizes the D Show each year. “We are proud to showcase our roots and expertise in the auto industry and also to demonstrate our creativity for different industries, including non-profits and robotics.”

In addition to recognizing traditional advertising work, the D Show also presented its “The Ambassador” award to Detroit Creative Corridor Center for its Detroit Design Festival. The award recognizes a project or initiative that uses creativity to showcase the city of Detroit in a positive way.

The D Show recognizes the best creative work in Metro Detroit from the past year with categories including print, TV, integrated branding, digital media, social media, graphic design and innovative marketing. Winners were selected from a record 651 entries of projects and campaigns from Metro

Detroit-based agencies or clients.
