Petoskey
Petoskey, Michigan — all the way up in Northern Michigan. It is a long journey from one end of the state to the other. Northern Michigan & Southern Michigan are like day / night. It is so calm, peaceful and relaxing in Northern Michigan. It is the perfect get-away when you need some time to think…

I travel to Petoskey, MI every year since I fell in love with the city almost 3 years ago. I use to live in downtown Petoskey for a summer as the social media strategist for the Chamber of Commerce. While I worked for the Chamber of Commerce; I got to know the business owners. I worked closely with the small businesses to assist with marketing their companies. I would take photos of their products or services and highlight their brand on social media platforms. I made a lot of new connections while having the chance to try everything. I mean all of it — the restaurants, the art galleries, the small shops and the tourist attractions like Fourth of July and festivals. That was one of my favorite summers.. one of the greatest summers because of the tourists. The summer homes are absolutely gorgeous – I mean multi-million dollar summer homes that are utilized from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend – the prime time.

You can travel to Bay Harbor, Charlevoix, Boyne City, Harbor Springs — all surrounding Petoskey. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone.

Our Trip Was Absolutely Beautiful.

My boyfriend Mike and I made the trip to Petoskey during the end of the season; which is after Labor Day. End of the season means that all of the summer families / tourists have gone back home. Most of the shops are closed too. The summer is very busy but winter is also – with skiing. The rates are lower during off-season which makes it more affordable.

We stayed at the Perry Hotel in downtown Petoskey – our favorite hotel. My cousin was married here a few summers ago.. absolutely gorgeous wedding. Speaking of– there was a wedding happening while we were staying here. We couldn’t figure out if they were having the wedding inside the Perry or if the wedding party was just staying there haha.

It was just a one night visit / one day visit but we made the most of it by driving around the area.

Here are some of the photos we snapped of the lighthouse, hotel and downtown area. Hope you enjoy!
