Encaustic Wax Painting
Encaustic is a wax based paint (composed of beeswax, resin and pigment), which is kept molten on a heated palette.
I developed artistic techniques from my encaustic painting class at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids. This course has strengthen my artistic abilities by opening new creative concepts in my abstract pieces. These are a few of my test pieces using different encaustic tools to scrape and scratch different marks in to the wax.
With the help of a heat gun, apply the heat fusing the colors together to avoid the wax coming off the MDF board.
This technique has become one of my favorite concepts in art. I will continue to use wax painting in my collection of art pieces.
