Tune In: Melissa DiVietri and Oreo Featured on HTX News
I am excited to share that I will be appearing on HTX News on Monday, June 22, alongside my service dog, Oreo.
This conversation will focus on disability inclusion, service animal etiquette, advocacy, and the importance of creating communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. Through my books, speaking engagements, and advocacy work, I have dedicated my life to helping others better understand the experiences of people with disabilities and the role accessibility plays in everyday life.
As a wheelchair user, author, artist, and disability advocate, I have learned that inclusion begins with conversation. When people have the opportunity to ask questions, learn from lived experiences, and gain a better understanding of disability, meaningful change becomes possible.
Oreo and I have had the privilege of visiting communities across the country this year through author events, school visits, bookstore signings, and speaking engagements. Every stop has reinforced the same message: awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to inclusion.
I hope you’ll join us as we discuss the importance of disability representation, service animal etiquette, and how each of us can help build a more accessible world.
